This is a place we've past countless times but never ventured into... no particular reason why its just one of those things. So thought what the hell, lets give it a shot. It was Friday night and we didn't have a reservation but that was not a problem. First impression, the music doesn't seem to match the Mediterranean restaurant but that was soon replaced by some live music and belly dancing - bonus! The restaurant attracts an eclectic crowd, presumably to match their eclectic menu. E.g. (and this is not what we ordered) on the same page on the menu you can have lahmacuhn, asparagus poached egg matured beef and fried french brie (retro!!) for starters! It's an ordering minefield. You could get the combination wildly wrong if you take your eye off the ball. DO NOT order whilst the belly dancing performance is on. Concentrate. I'm reminded of why we never came in... we looked at the menu. Before panic sets in I think logically as to what they could be good at to stick to their strengths when ordering. We opt for the soup of the day, mixed meze and lamb shank. Am pleasantly surprised... the lamb shank is extremely tender. Its served on a bed of rich aubergine puree which compliments it very well. I do have to leave aside the "seasonal vegetables".. there was nothing seasonal about them and the were overboiled. Also, the gravy seems a bit out of place. Miso scared of the over extensive menu with some dishes that belong on a package holiday.
